Fortnite is apparently SUPER addictive

is fortnite an addictive videogame

Kind of a serious issue to talk about here, video game addiction. it’s all fun and games when you binge on a video game for a night or two. But if it becomes a regular thing, as apparently it has for some Fortnite addicts (one player mentioned clocks in 12 hours a day!), then it’s time to get some help.

From the article:

“For now, Fortnite is the game of choice. On a recent afternoon, the game was the most-viewed on Inc.’s Twitch streaming service, with 250,000 people watching others play.”

This is why TRS80 Gaming is into casual games and keeping casual gaming hours. There’s a world and life outside of video games, and addiction is no joke.

Super Mario Maker 2 used to create a 1st-Person Adventure Game

Super Mario Maker 2 for Nintendo Switch

This is incredible, someone has used the tools provided by the game Mario Maker to create their very own first-person adventure game!

Instead of creating just a simple level, they took it to another level and created 3d Maze House.

Super Mario Maker 2 is a game for the Nintendo Switch where you and other players create custom side-scrolling Mario levels.

3d Maze House flips this on its head so instead of playing a side-scroller, you’re in first-person view.

Microtransactions in Crash Team Racing

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled videogame

What was a really fun game, Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled, is now having microtransactions added to it after it’s been out for a few months. I’ve played it and it’s a fun game, really fun in the old school racing game style. You can pick it up and play for a few minutes or a few hours, depending on how you feel. But now, they’ve added microtransactions it will change that dynamic.

Fortnite Season X is here

The latest season of Fornite, season 10, is here. And again there are some awesome goodies in the season.

There are community created LTMs (Limited Time Modes) available for Fortnite Creative. They are Beach Assault and Prop Hunt. For those who haven’t tried it, Fortnite Creative is the toolkit that you can use for creating your own map that includes whatever you want. Think of Fortnite Creative as Minecraft or Roblox, where you can build up a cool new map.

New website: August 2019

Excuse the appearance of the TRS80 gaming site at the moment, we are in the process of moving blog posts from our previous website host Weebly to a WordPress-based site.

We’re aiming to provide more frequent updates and a membership forum at some point. We are also thinking of having more contests and giving away t-shirts and games in the future.

TRS80 Emulators

The TRS80 Gaming site is named after the TRS-80 computer. It’s a computer from 1977 that was created by Tandy and sold through RadioShack. The TRS-80 Model 4 was released in April 1983 and featured a 4 MHz CPU, an 80×24 column display, and 128KB of RAM. Wow. That’s nothing like today’s computers but for the earlier days, it was an awesome and fun machine.

In honor of the TRS-80 name and where our gaming site’s name comes from, here is a list of TRS-80 emulators! Some of them will work on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. There’s also an emulator that works on Android.
