The answer to these questions is YES!
In eSports, players are seated at their PCs or their consoles (such as PlayStation 4 or XBox One). The players are on two teams, though some games are one versus one, so you can think of them as closer to golf or to tennis.
The teams play several matches against one another and a winner is declared. eSports are very similar to sports.
eSports can be just as exciting as typical sports. Some videogames include a lot of strategy and tactics and others emphasize speed and adrenaline. This makes eSports very competitive and very exciting to watch. In the past few years, there have been better commentators who add great coverage to eSports tournaments.
You can watch eSports on a big screen TV just like sports and you will find yourself watching in anticipation as the teams play and score points. Next thing you know, you will be organizing days to watch the eSports tournaments and having snacks and drinking beers.

How you can get started in eSports
First, pick a videogame that you are comfortable playing and one that has tournaments and leagues for it. Some good esports games to start with are Call of Duty or Hearthstone.
Second, start practicing. Before casual matches, you can practice certain tactics or strategies in a game. For example, with Counter-Strike:Global Offensive, you can create games where bots play and just practice taking shots and improving your aim. In Starcraft, you can play against AI bots and learn how to use the keyboard shortcuts to build faster.
Third, find regular players to practice and play with. Teamwork makes the dream work as they say and it’s good for you to learn how to collaborate with your team in order to win matches.
